Youth Camp
We Just returned from our youth camp. The theme of the camp was “LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE” and the messages spoken were based on the prayer of Jabez. At the camp the missions team were all split up into tribes and in those tribes we discussed the different aspects of Jabez’s prayer. The tribes also were put into place for the merits and demerits, the food eating and they were your teams for the activities. Paster Mel did a series of message on Jabez and everyone really took in the message. Before all of Paster Mel’s messages, we always had a praise and worship. At the first few praise and worship sessions, some people were hesitant in lifting up their hands to the Lord and singing, but by the end of the camp, the praise and worship was full on rockin’. On the night of the second day, we had the baptism in the spirit. There many amounts of people came forward to receive the Holy Spirit. It was a very successful night. The third night we had a movie then we had a bonfire. At the bonfire, we wrote on a piece of paper, what was holding us back from God. Then we threw the paper in the fire. The whole Saturday was dedicated to the Water Baptism. We went to a swimming pool, walking distance from the camp. There also many people we baptised in water. Afterwards we just hung out at the pool and did many activities. The Australia team and the Legazpi team had a race down the slides and what a surprise!!! Australia won. The Legazpi team started really late aswell. You know what they say:: Australia is always 3 hours faster than the Philippines. The whole camp was great, everyone had so much fun and heaps of people saved.

San Antonio and BIGA A!!!!!!!
On Tuesday the whole youth team went to 2 areas that were very close to Mt Mayon and so were hit more than the places they had already been. These were San Antonio and Bigaa.
San Antonio and Bigaa still had signs of the typhoon damage. Some of the stories we heard were graphically horrible and some of the events that occurred during that time was horrendous but we’ll leave that for another time. In San Antonio we had a combined adult and youth outreach where we had a few testimonies, some delightful puppetry and also an excellent message from Burt. Finally we had numerous prayer requests before we were on our way. The Bigaa session involved a lot more people. We split the adult oureach and kid’s program. San Antonio had app. 30 people altogether but bigaa had app 30 Adults n ova 35 kids so it was a much larger outreach. The kid’s program was assisted by a number of the ladies from legazpi church.
The young mission team members took this challenge up and entertained the kids with stories, dances and also some great puppet work. Good work young ones (Liz, Shel, Eden, Jess n Jerome). The older members had the adult program, where songs were sung, testimonies given and another GREAT message by BURT was produced. I tell you he is really developing and at this rate he’ll be taking over Ps Mel’s preaching soon. The only problem was Tuan (the eldest) seemed to have run away from most of the proceedings. We don’t know about that one, he just seems to be neglecting his duties at times (LOL!). After the message all the older ones combined (Even Tuan [miraclescan happen]) their spirits for a rocking prayer session, all requests were prayed for and it was a great end. After this we all participated in the designated feeding programs for the children. They really got a ‘FULL’ night. It was an awesome day, the team did really well. THX GUYZ!

Youth Concert
For the morning and afternoon on the rest day, the whole mission team went out and did some shopping. That night we had a concert for the Youth Camp to raise money. That night the Legazpi youth did many song and dance items. Every one of their youth was somehow involved in the rally. The mission team did two items, “The Chair” and “The Armour of God.” Everyone at the rally enjoyed the showing of The Armour of God. People were laughing and clapping. At the rally, a raffle was drawn after a few songs and two of our team members, Tuan and Jenny, won a prize. Other prizes given out were free admission to the camp and “Breakthrough” T-Shirts from the Legazpi church. Also a bag of rice was given to a raffle winner who gives heaps to the church and to the community. We had an awesome time at the rally to help for the Youth Camp.

WORD OF HOPE LEGAZPI – SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE REPORT
Our team (minus Jenny, Tuan and Jerome) had our first Sunday Service at Word of Hope in Legazpi yesterday. The praise and worship was led by Dhing and the atmosphere for the service was set really well.
Pastor Mel preached about having God’s favour on our lives and the response to the message was incredible. The team helped Pastor Mel with praying for the people. Eden, Liezel and Shelly did a dance item during the tithes and offerings.
Overall, the service went very well. We were all blessed.

A report from Daragagagagaraga:
At 8.30am, Jerome, Jenny, Ate Jona and Pastor Tuan arrived at the Word of Hope Daraga church. After meeting and greeting people from the church, the three Australian pioneers separated initially (Jenny and Jerome together, Tuan on his own) to minister to the different age groups of the church. Jerome and Jenny took the children’s Sunday school, whilst Pastor Tuan bravely endeavored to teach the adult Bible Study. Admittedly, both groups felt they’d done terribly wrong. Perhaps it was a sad case of nerves.
Once the people gathered together again for a session of praise and worship, our team gathered together for a short session of prayer, which astoundingly made a significant difference. After praying, we found that everything seemed to flow much more than it had during the first session. The people became receptive and more open to what we had to say. The kids in Sunday school enjoyed themselves so much that Jerome and Jenny were told kindly to relocate, as the children were making too much noise. Pastor Tuan managed to captivate the people, and drew them in to pray for their healing.
Overall, the morning was a success. Praise God that He faithfully reminded us of the wonder and power (and immediate results) of prayer. After saying our goodbyes, the team celebrated their success, feeling wonderfully “full-filled”.

Bula Trip
On our first Saturday, we travelled two hours to Bula where we had an outreach. The travelling between Legaspi and Bula was a struggle for some but no problem for others. On arrival at Bula, we were surrounding by farms of rice fields. The church at Bulla was partly destroyed by the typhoon. This didn’t stop the people there from praise and worshiping God. During the service in the morning, our mission team introduced themselves, sang the song “Send me, I will go” and we did the puppets.
The whole day was hot and humid but still people were concentrating on the message that Ps. Mel was giving. After the message people we asked to come up the front to be prayed for. As soon as this was said the majority of the people flooded up the front and our mission team split up into twos and we prayed for each person individually. After the service, we had lunch and they brought out delicious food consisting of chicken, vegetables and rices. Everyone enjoyed the food that was handed out. Later on that day we were involved in various activities set by the Bula church. Firstly we started with the “Bible Drill.” In this game we had to search for a passage of the Bible. Everyone got involved and it was full of laughter. After that we had another game called the Bible Quiz where we had to answer a question from a specific book.
There at the Bulla church we met many young people who at their young age are already working in the rice fields to pay end’s meat and support their family. These children may work long hours in the day but they only get paid like 4 pesos an hour. This touched all the mission team to see how under-privileged many children are.
Overall we had a great time at the church and we were glad to help out in Bula.
