Mission Trip entry
-My mission trip so far has been exciting and very busy. On the first day we arrived in the Phils, we were shocked to lose 3 passports. The next day, our diver found the missing passports. The flight to Legaspi was awesome, on landing I saw the biggest mountain I had ever seen, Mayon Volcanoe. That night we started a crusade. Just seeing the living conditions of the people, left me in awe. That night after watching the first part of the Passion of the Christ, hearing testimonies from Tuan and Kathy and hearing a massage from Burt, the missions team prayed for anyone who wanted to be prayed for. I felt that all the tiredness we endured made it all worthwhile to see people getting prayed for and coming closer to God. The next day, we did two outreaches and finished off our first crusade. At the first outreach, we went to an area of squatters. There I did my testimony, the broken curse and we did the puppets to the little children. Seeing the hardship, these people have gone through such as the typhoon, really shocked me. Seeing first hand that people are doing it way worse than most of us have gone through, it opened my eyes. The second part of the outreach, had basically the same program as the day before and as before we prayed for people who wanted to be saved. Today we went to another church two hours away, there we did our song, “Send me, I will go,” the puppets and we prayed for the people.

So far I have I had an amazing time and I feel I am really growing as a person. Seeing what some of the people have gone through, has changed my perspective on life. The people of the legazpi church are really friendly and I have meet some great people. I’m praying the rest of the trip, will help me grow as a Christian person.

-message to my family
Hey guys, hows it going? Im having a wonderful time you might tell. I’m really learning a lot. Everyone are really nice here and the rest of the team is really caring and supportive. Waking up early is not too bad but the sweating and dirt is really hard to adapt to. Sorry the blog isn’t getting updated regularly as we have been really busy. I miss you guys and ill see you in a coupe of weeks. Take care from all here.
Jesse

Jesse’s blog entry
On the Sunday night, we had the best time at the Youth Service. Everyone was joyful and energetic. The whole mission team had a wonderful time jumping around to the music. By the end of the service everyone was really happy but very, very damp and sweaty. The Monday rest day, was pretty relaxed and we got to sleep in until 6.30. Yeah! That’s a real sleep in. It was really good comparing to wake up at 5am or 5.30am. The whole team was went out to shop for a while as we had other priorities. That night we had to youth rally and everything ran smoothly. I had to do the Chair skit and the mission team showed The Armour of God which everyone loved.

On the Tuesday we went to two more outreach. These places we full on hit by the super typhoon. On the way to the outreach we saw massive boulders that covered a whole place. That afternoon we ate at a restaurant and the food was good. That night we help set up for the youth camp.

Message to my family
Hey guys, hows it hangin? Just as my last message, I’m having an awesome time here. I hope you guys are okay. What’s been happening there? Anything interesting? What are the scores of the AFL, swimming and cricket. Umm.. there won’t be a blog for a few days after this since we will be at the youth camp until the Saturday. Cya guys in two weeks. Miss you all,

Laters
Jesse

-Mission trip entry
Since my last blog, we have spent the last couple of days at the youth camp. There we learnt about Jabez. I was in one tribe for the first two days then another for the last two days. Everyone there at the camp was really friendly even though sometimes there was a language barrier. There we had merits and demerits, the Australian Mission team thought it would be funny to duplicate our ID cards and hang them all over the place. We did this because we had a joke going around that “Wherever there is a lost ID card, a leader be there in a second.” Tuan placed one of his ID card on the top of the flagpole. I thought it was hilarious. He got 3000 demerits but his team cancelled it out by grabbing mine from the top of the basketball ring. By myself, I put an ID on a chicken, basketball ring and on many trees. That’s how we enjoyed ourselves on the camp. On a serious note, many people were baptized in the spirit and the water. I helped pray for people who wanted to be baptized in the spirit. I found it really touching that I could help people come closer to God. On the last day we went to a swimming pool, where we baptized the people in water. After that we had so much fun flipping in the pool, swimming and going on the water slide. Burt and I taught people how to swim and everyone made progress. There were about 12 of them. Most of our team got sunburned. At the praise and worships, I had a marvelous time jumping up and down, singing/shouting the words of many songs. I really connected with all the songs. Always after the praise and worship I would also feel happy and joyful. Overall I had a great time at the youth camp.

Yesterday, I had a great time at all three services we went to. The morning service was a solemn one as it was Easter. Ps. Mel talked about Barabbas. In the arvo, we went to Humapon where we attended their service. There we met up with Kuya Dante, Ate Daisy and Sister Nelia. There I did my testimony and we did a skit called God’s Love. The night time Youth rally was Rockin’. Everyone had a great time, I really connected with the songs and Jerome again did another stage dive. I just absolutely love being involved with the Youth Rally. I wish our church had one in Australia. Today were having our scheduled rest day and after the past week I think we need it.

I miss you guys but the fun and excitement here distracts me away that thought. I’m really having to stretch myself and I really feel I’m growing a lot. One more week to go and this will be the most hectic so far. Cya guys in a week.

GOD BLESS
Jesse

That's all for now son.

Mommy, Jadelyn and Dad miss you a lot! Enjoy yourself and achieve what you have set-up to achieve plus your teams goal in your mission trip. Say HI to Pastor Mel and the rest of the team! Your thoughts are in our prayers!

Dearest Jesse,

How are you my son? Thank you for your message. I am so very happy for you. I am so proud of you. You are doing a fantastic job and giving up your holiday to help the people in Legazpi. It is really going to be an experience that you will never forget. Just enjoy the time that you are there and try to make friends with the people that you meet. Learn from them also and appreciate the simple things in life that they enjoy.

We miss you so much here and it is quiet without you. Jadelyn is missing you. (She is whispering - she would like you to buy her heaps of juicy fruit!)We do all miss you.

Take care of what you eat and drink. Also, don't forget the mosquito repellant. If you need more food just buy when you go out.

Have fun myself and keep doing a good work.

Regards to all the mission trip and thanks everyone for being there for you.

God bless you.

We love you heaps.

Hi Jess,

Good to know you are being esposed to hasher realities in other people's lives in the world, especially our Co-filipinos in Legazpi. It's great that your horizon is widened and that you are learning to be a better person and christian. Keep it up son.
Good to know also that you are all ok there and meeting a lot of good people and the whole mission team supporting and caring for each other. Needless to say, you are achieving what you have set out to accomplish there.

By the way, have you been receiving this comments of ours, first from me, then Jadelyn and then it was Mommy, and this 4th/last is me again. Can you confirm that you are receiving our messages to you?

In swimming, Ian Thorpe is being investigated for dope allegations by FINA from one of this test results last year (big news here). Schipper won the 200m butterfly, Phelps has been breaking world records left rignt center that I couldnt cope with the developments. As you know I could not watch all the events due to my work load. Phelps is not touted as the worlds greatest swimmer ever. In cricket, Australia beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets as the game was reduced to like a 20-20 game due to heavy rain. Glen Mcgrath broke the world record of Wasim Akram as the greatest wicket taker (55 wickets) in the World cup by taking 3 for 16 in the last game. In footy which kicked off last night, West coast beat St.Kilda by 1 point and the dons are playing against Adelaide this arvo. I'll keep you posted.

To you and the whole team, continue with all your good work and great experience there, take care and all the best and enjoy it!

Love,

Dad

This morning on the news they set out an alert for the people around queensland for a tsunami! Because there was an earthquake in the solomon islands. Then mum and i prayed just before it would hit but the tsunami never came. I also found a new tycoon game! Its really cool. Mum and I went to choco churro today and got 2 chocolate dipping sauces but there is no one to finish them. that's all.

bye from Jade, Mum and Dad

Dearest Jesse,

How are you my son? We have been missing you this Easter. It's been very quiet since you have left. Next time we should all be together and do the mission trip. We just miss you so very much.

We had a nice dinner at Ate's yesterday. The kids had a late eggs hunting inside the house because it was dark - we were late as usual because of you know WHO! Jadelyn was not very pleased. She was sulking all the way there! So did it inside the house.

How did you find your Easter there? Please tell us what you think of their festivities when you can or it can wait until you come back.

Enjoy the rest of your stay there. We are so very proud of you.

God bless you always. Give our regards to all the team and special thanks to the host families and Pastor Mel.

You know I have been writing to you but I did not realise it was sending to you because of wrong sending. I always write to you but I did not realise it was sending to you. It's only Jadelyn who made realise that it was not publishing. I am praying for you safety all the time. I miss you so very much. It's not complete without you my son. Hurry home!

Take care and be careful whatever you do.

Heaps of prayers, love and kisses

Dearest Jesse,

Thank you so very much for your updates. It sounds awesome! You are all having a blessed time! We are so very proud of you and for the all works you are doing for the Lord. We are immensely happy and proud of you my son. We are glad that you can reach out to the kids out there and sharing them your skills in swimming and in other activities. I am so glad to know that you are growing in your faith and truly feel the joy of having a relationship with our Lord. I am truly blessed, I mean we all are, that you are growing everyday and learning how to pray for other people. Most importantly, you now know how happy those children or rather the people in those areas even if they have so little. Keep up the good work my son and our Lord will sustain you and He will give you strength.

Thank you for keeping us posted. It makes us very happy hearing from you.

Lastly, take care of yourself. Enjoy the rest of your trip and keep us posted whenever you guys find time.

God bless you and we love you so much and we miss you heaps.

Hurry home!

Lots of love

Hi Jess,

Essendon won over Freemantle.
Australian won over England by a big margin and put them in # 1 spot again in the cricket ranking.
Yesterday, West Indies lost to New Zealand and put them out of contention for the top 4 finals. Australia, Sri-Lanka and New Zealand are assured now of the top 3 spots and the 4th & last spot will go to either England or South Africa. Australia plays New Zealand on Friday night I guess.

That's all for now and keep up with your good work, enjoyment and learning experience there.... and same with the rest of the team...
to you and all..... take care and all the very best!

See you on Wednesday morning!

Love,

Dad
PS.. Mom & Jade have been waiting for your next reply.

How are you? You must all be very busy. We understand. Just enjoy the rest of your stay there and cherish every moment. You are so fortunate to be in the team. I can tell you are growing a lot and so different in your outlook now. Seeing the plight of the people will definitely change your perspective in life. With God's blessing we will endeavour to help those who deservely need help. Keep up the good work for the Lord. His strength is with you always.

We just miss and can't wait for you to be home. Jadelyn certainly misses you - no one is annoying her daw that's why she is always with her friends from Geelong Grammar - Glamorgan.

I am busy as usual and made some sales. Praise the Lord. Dad is busy too with loan writing. Thank God for all the blessings He gives to us.

Dad has bought universal remote control so it is easy to operate. Jadelyn is thinking to bake a cake for you! She baked cookies for Easter Sunday!

Good night and God bless always.

Heaps of love and prayers,
